Addis Ababa, October 24, 2026 (AACRA): The contract for the Bole Arabsa–ICT Park road construction project has been terminated, with the remaining execution moving under the direct in-house capacity of the Addis Ababa City Roads Authority.

According to Engineer Mulugeta Gebre, Construction Works Team Leader at the Eastern Road Construction Project Office, the project was previously contracted to Alemayehu Ketema General Contractor. However, due to delays and failure to meet required progress targets, the contract was officially revoked, leading the Authority to assume direct control using its internal workforce.

Engineer Mulugeta noted that while the Eastern Road Construction Project Office has taken over the primary roadwork, the three bridges included in the project scope will be assigned to a separate contractor.

The Arabsa–ICT Park road project spans 6 kilometers in length and 60 meters in width, accommodating pedestrian pathways and green areas. Sub-base paving is currently underway on a large scale.

Once completed, the road will serve as a vital shortcut for drivers traveling from Bole International Airport via Goro toward the Bole Arabsa condominium housing complex and surrounding neighborhoods, significantly reducing travel times and easing heavy traffic congestion along the Goro–Arabsa transit corridor.
