Over the past 11 months, more than 503 kilometers of drainage line works have been carried out in Addis Ababa to reduce the risk of flooding.

During this period, the Addis Ababa City Roads Authority undertook extensive cleaning and maintenance of drainage lines covering 491 kilometers across various parts of the city, aimed at preventing flood hazards during the rainy season.

In addition to cleaning and rehabilitation, 12.89 kilometers of new drainage lines and supporting retaining walls were constructed. Altogether, the total drainage works completed reached 503.92 kilometers within 11 months.
