July 8, 2018, Addis Ababa:- The Addis Ababa City Roads Authority is conducting quick repair works in different parts of the city to reduce the risk of flooding during the winter season and to prevent disruption of traffic flow. In addition to the extensive repair works done in the summer months.

Quick repairs have been carried out on the roads that were damaged by flooding due to the heavy rains last week.

Among the areas where the repair work has been done are 49 condominium around 40/60, Kelebu - Jemo Music neighborhood, Jemo Michael - Germany road intersection, Jemo glass factory area, German sheep turn area and Kelebu light-lafto road.

The official office will continue to strengthen the efforts to reduce the risk of floods, by making quick remediation works in other areas.

The official office has urged the society to play its role in preventing illegal activities that hinder the service of drainage lines.

Flood prevention work has been carried out extensively during the summer months of the budget year. In the 2018 budget year, cleaning and maintenance of roadside drainage lines covering 592 kilometers, reconstruction and maintenance of several bridges, and partial and complete repair works in 71 areas that are said to be vulnerable to flood.
