Road Damaged by Landslide Being Reconstructed
The Addis Ababa Roads Authority is working to reconstruct and restore service to an asphalt road damaged by a landslide inside the condominium residential village commonly known as Birtchiko.
Eng. Simeon Getachew, Team Leader of the West Addis Ababa Road Maintenance Construction Works, stated that the section of the road affected by the landslide that occurred in the area a year ago is now being rebuilt.
He further explained that the project involves completely removing and reconstructing a 130-meter stretch of the road, along with soil stabilization works on the road embankment (back slope).
It is recalled that infrastructure in the Birtchiko condominium village and surrounding area suffered damage due to a landslide incident last year.
